January 30, 2008 @ 3:33 PMUm yeah. Hi. Oops. :) I'd say I've been super busy, but really I haven't been much busier than when I was single. I just spend a lot of time with my husband and our pup. I actually *gasp* go to bed at 9:30 or 10PM. What? You should be incredulous because I certainly am. School is going really well this year. I have two pretty awesome classes and one kind of sucky class, but I'll live. I like quite a few kids in the sucky class. I guess that it all balances out in the end. My juniors are reading "The Crucible" which I love, love, love! I had two seniors whose parents wouldn't allow them to read Beowulf because it was too pagan and Frankenstein because Victor was trying to play God. Yes, seriously. So, I had to get them literature together that was more Biblically based. It is one of those situations where I'm not quite sure what the objection is, but I guess parents have a right to censor their child's reading material. I'm STILL working on my dissertation. I have chapters 1, 2, and 3 ready for the dean's approval. My committee members FINALLY approved them about a week ago. I cannot submit to the dean though until I'm in a class. My next class doesn't start until February 5th. Gracious! Of course each class in $2100 or $1100. EACH. I'm in part "b" of this class so it is a mere $1100. *eye roll* Once I get approval from the dean I can finally start doing research to write my chapters 4 and 5. I will be SO glad when I finally get to be Dr. Dana. Nana has been in the nursing home for a year. It has been both good and bad. Her physical and mental health are much, much better. I can hold a conversation with her and everything. The bad...well, I just won't mention the bad. I _think_ it is mostly taken care of now...at least, that's what the lawyer said. We take it day-by-day with the bad part. Mark and I are doing well. It is awesome being married to him. I couldn't ask for a better husband, really. He hates his job...I mean REALLY hates it, but I guess in this economy, at least he has one. Boris is huge now. He weighs 80lbs. He's a huge puppy who thinks he's a lap dog. Seriously. :) Simon is still waddling around making a ruckus. Boris mainly ignores her, and she scoffs at his presence. For Mark's birthday, I gave him hockey tickets to see his favorite team play against the Atlanta Thrashers. The Pens lost, but the game was excellent. They're playing again today in Atlanta. I wish we were going. I cannot wait to get paid tomorrow. I've been so p'. The last time teachers got paid was December 19th. *OUCH* I have tests to grade so I just wanted to get back to it. I just wanted to let Wyatt know I was still alive. :)
